I am a professor of geophysics at Utrecht University

My research group studies earthquakes and the Earth’s interior at all scales. We extract information from ground motion recorded at global and regional seismic networks to produce three-dimensional models of the Earth’s interior and/or of the physics of seismic sources, mostly using high-performance computing. Much of our work is methodological and machine learning plays an increasingly important role in our approach.
