Internship

Dear Geology Students,

Petrotechnical Data Systems (PDS) is offering you the chance to do a 3-4 month internship (starting in September or October, 2010) to experience working in the hydrocarbon industry. Our company is working for, and with, major IOC's to develop, deploy and to provide support for Subsurface Applications like, for example, Petrel. We are a company with a diverse and international staff including people with a mathematic, physics, IT, geological and geophysical background.

During your internship you will be involved in the development of a Subsurface module that is designed for a specific geo-scientific task . The main activities linked to the internship are evaluating and proposing improvements for a Subsurface Software Module designed for specific geo-scientific task. Secondly, you will be responsible for the production and development of a Web Based Training module to facilitate the user pick up of the Subsurface Software Module.

For our office in Zoetermeer we would like to come into contact with candidates for the full-time positions of:

Geologist

As a Geologist you are accountable for all geological work within the team. This ranges from operations geology, regional geological studies, reservoir predictions, well-log correlations and building geological models using Petrel. Contribution towards technical reports such as well proposals, field development plans, license application documents, unitisations and farm-ins is a team effort. You will maintain the team’s geological database. You have working experience as a geologist within the oil and gas industry, preferably working knowledge of petrophysics. Are you our enthusiastic colleague with a Master’s degree in Geology and North Sea experience?

Reservoir Engineer

As a Reservoir Engineer you will prepare and analyse production test data, monitoring the gas fields production behaviour, prepare gas reserves reporting, propose gas sales nominations and perform history matching. You will contribute to technical reports such as well proposals, field development plans, license application documents, unitisations and farm-ins. You will maintain the team’s reservoir engineering database. You have working experience as a Reservoir Engineer within the oil and gas industry.
