The Utrecht Geological Student Society (U.G.V.) is a student association for students of the Earth Sciences Department of the (Faculty of Geosciences) of the Utrecht University. The society was founded on the 14th of January 1946 and has rich history . The society has grown to approximately 500 members and alumni.
The aims of our society are to strengthen the bonds within our student community, between students and the industry. Furthermore the U.G.V. organises a wide variety of activities. Each year students can join our study-related activities like geologic or industry excursions in or outside Europe, symposia and lectures as well as social drinks and parties.
Besides the U.G.V. takes care of book sales and our own extended U.G.V. merchandise. To enhance the contact between students and the industry there are company presentation at our place or at location. New on our site is the page with job vacancies.
Naturally everybody is invited to come around and visit the U.G.V.-chamber for a cup of coffee during lectures or to relax after a day of zealous day of study of work with a nice cold beer!
