A zoomed-in image of the Western part of the model for the Eurasian plate. The mesh is used for the calculation and distribution of model forces, and also for the determination of tectonic stresses using elastic finite element modelling. The color shading in oceanic areas indicates the age of oceanic lithosphere from young (red) to old (green). Reddish parts of the southern plate boundary depict collisional boundaries.
