Most of the fundamental ideas of science are essentially simple, and may, as a rule, be expressed in a language comprehensible to everyone.

Presentations, Visits and Conference Participations

¨  Graduate students and postdocs from Princeton University, as well as collaborators from the University of Bergen and the University of Stuttgart visited our group.  The purpose of the visit was to allow the groups from the different universities to get to know each other and to learn about research activities being pursued within the different groups.  Given that Professor M. A. Celia is spending much of the fall semester here in Utrecht University, it seemed like a good opportunity for the Princeton group to travel to Utrecht and learn about the work being done in Utrecht.  There were two days of meetings and formal exchanges, on October 31st and November 1st, followed by more informal activities, like a visit to Deltaworks.  Visitors from Princeton  included Tom Elliot and Florian Doster, who are postdocs, and Juan Nogues, Mary Kang, Bo Guo, and Xinwo Huang, who are graduate students.  From Bergen there were Jan Nordbotten and Sarah Gasda, who is a former Ph.D. student of Professor’s Celia at Princeton University. From Stuttgart, there were Rainer Helmig and two of his graduate students, Philipp Nuske and Irina Zizina
