Workshops, Lectures, Visits & Conferences In the upcoming Fall AGU meeting in San Francisco (December 15-19) there is a session listed as: “Flow and Transport in Complex Porous Media”. This session is meant to bring together researchers dealing with flow and transport in classical and complex porous media and to provide an interdisciplinary platform both for transferring knowledge from geosciences to complex porous media and to highlight and exchange ideas about new challenges. Conveners of this session are: Majid Hassanizadeh (Utrecht University), Jennifer Niessner (University of Stuttgart), and Rainer Helmig (University of Stuttgart). You could find more information on this session here. A WIMEK-NUPUS-PE&RC WORKSHOP on ”Roots – an interdisciplinary link” will be held in WICC, Wageningen, the Netherlands on 10-12 September 2008. Main objectives of the meeting are: To provide interdisciplinary links to plant scientists and hydrologists, to inform interesting parties of what is going on, to identify and detail the problems associated with root system modelling, to make an inventory of current understanding of root uptake strategies (water and nutrients), to inform one another on ongoing research projects, and to discuss future research needs and prospects for collaboration For more information click here. |
