Open positions

¨ The Department of Mathematics of the University of Bergen is offering 3 PhD
Research fellowships for a project on Modelling and analysis of porous media
and CO2 storage
. For further information on the positions, please click here.

¨  The  School of Civil Engineering and Environmental Science of the University of Oklahoma is offering two positions for a project on Dynamic Capillary Effects. For further information, please click here.

¨ The laboratory TREFLE of the University of Bordeaux is offering a postdoctoral position within the framework of the following project: “Static seal by direct contact of rough plane surfaces” . For more information, please click here.

¨ The Center for Experimental Study of Subsurface Environmental Processes (CESEP), Colorado School of Mines, is offering a postdoctoral position from July 1st, 2010. The research will focus on non-isothermal multiphase flow processes in the shallow subsurface as applied to evaporation from soil and vapor transport in the unsaturated zone. Courses, Workshops and Schools

¨ An international workshop focusing on the role and
behavior of
"Interfaces and interfacial displacement processes in
unsaturated porous media"
will take place in Lauterbad (Freudenstadt), Black Forest, Germany, from the 2nd until the 4th of February, 2011. For more information on the workshop, please click here.

¨ InterPore would like to announce to its members a new Award, funded by Procter & Gamble: this is the InterPore-Procter and Gamble Award for Porous Media Research-2011. The Award is given in recognition of outstanding contributions to topics related to swelling porous media, very thin porous media, and behavior at interfaces.  Nominees must be members of InterPore.  Nomination packages should include full CV of the candidate, a nomination letter including explicit reference to the contributions to the aforementioned topics, and related documentation (publications, reports) supporting the nomination.  Nomination packages should be submitted here .  Deadline for receipt of complete nomination packages is the 31st of January, 2011.  The prize will consist of an award of 5000 Euros plus a certificate.
