In Utrecht we study the Earth's interior at all scales. We extract information from earthquakes or seismic noise recorded at global and regional seismic networks to produce three-dimensional models of the Earth's interior, mostly using supercomputing. Much of our work is methodological. We also investigate interpretations of the inferred structure in terms of dynamics.

A Pressure wave, a Shear wave and surface waves can be seen in this seismogram.
