Activities of Maxim Krasnoperov

Development, improvement and maintenance
of paleomagnetic equipment

Maxim Krasnoperov is our new technician on our long-time technician who follows up Tom Mullender who has retired. He will maintain and develop our paleomagnetic and rock magnetic equipment.
His research engineer background at Stichting NIMR included intensive experimental activities in the laboratory of Material Science Department of TUDelft (prof. I. Richardson welding group). During this research program, Maxim employed various techniques to monitor, control and study high power laser material processing.

His major task will be to implement automated thermal demagnetization on our robotized 2G cryogenic magnetometer, housed in our shielded room. Automatic AF demagnetization has already been implemented.

Maxim also maintains and improves our field equipment, and to test the equipment he participated in a fieldwork in Romania (Carpathian foredeep), with Wout Krijgsman, Marius Stoica and Chris van Baak.
